Saturday

So I was going to take Macie to the Wag-A-Tail Walk-A-Thon today but as I was googling it I found out it costs $30.00 to get it! Holy outrageous! Even if it is for a good cause I think Id rather take Macie girl to the park. AND I've been searching daily for a sister for Macie. I get the feeling she's lonely and I think she'd be much happier with a play mate. Ideally, I think a mini dachshund would be perfect but unless we want to pay$900.00 then we might be out of luck.....any ideas???

Puppy Park Fun!

So Casey and I found the most wonderful park for Macie! It's the Sunset Dog Park and what's awesome about this place is they separate the big dogs from the small dogs! So Macie feels much safer playing with pups her own age! In fact the first time we went there we met a bulldog puppy, a baby Yorkie, one of those wolf looking dogs although this one was a puppy and they were all very sweet!
I like taking her there at least once a day. I feel so bad that she's stuck in the apartment all day and i feel like she needs to get out and run!
Today was an especially great day at the park since the Desert Doxies of Las Vegas were there! There a small group of doxie owners who meet up twice a month and let all their doxies play and have fun! I started talking to the organizer and she convinced me to sign up and meet with them. Hopefully Macie can make some Doxie friends and maybe we can find her a sister soon!!!!

So it's 2:40am and I'm WIDE AWAKE! I've even outlasted the dog! I guess my "little" nap from 11am-4pm this afternoon was a bad idea!
Tonight, my neighbor Becky invited me to her "Slumber Party" basically a sex toy party. I really didn't want to go but after she came upstairs knocking on my door wondering where I was I decided to stop being gay and go check it out. I'm glad I did because I really have a fun time talking with the girls! I brought Macie too and she had lots of fun! We found out she's an alcoholic and favors the booze :) All in all a good time, plus I got to know my neighbors a little bit better. We even set a date to all go to the dog park next week :)

Here are my thoughts on the week coming up...

Monday
Monday's are usually pretty good. I re-visit the Chiropractor and I always look forward to that! He's amazing and after one visit I can always feel the results! I keep telling Casey he needs to go see him but you know Casey and doctors...

Tuesday
I'm so excited for Tuesday! I get to meet with the Cath Lab Director at Sunrise Hospital to discuss my "Live Surgery Event" that I'm putting on for our Mission Lifeline donors! (ask me about this cause its really cool!!!)

Wednesday
Oooh today Michelle and I get to go watch our production guys tape Austin, a Heart Disease Survivor, for our Heart Ball production tape we are going to have! But that's just a small portion of the day. Wednesday is really just HUMP DAY...on 2 more days and then the weekend!

Thursday
UGHHHHH! I have to fly to LA for work today :( So that means I have to be up at 4am to get ready to for my 6am flight to LA then my meeting starts at 8 am and goes until 4pm and then I jump right back on a flight to Vegas at 6pm! UGHHHH I hate these days! By 6am you already feel like you've had a full day! :(

Friday
Awww Friday! My favorite day! You can wear your jeans to work :) You can go out at night and have fun with your friends but mostly I'm so tired from the week that I usually just sleep :)

Saturday
Macie has her second to last Vet appointment today! I hate taking her cause I feel bad that she has to get poked with a huge big needle. I wish she liked doggie treats cause I'd take her to the Doggie Barkery to get her a treat! Aww, my little baby bug a boo!

So my baby totally needed to hit the beauty parlor and get her hair did :)

The closest place is just down the street and its called "Purrs and Wags." It's so cute and they were very nice to Macie. Although I was a little sad leaving my baby behind in the scary kennel, I sucked it up and told my baby I'd be back in an hour. (How the heck am I supposed to leave my children on their first day of school???)

Any way's they gave her a bath and cut her nails. She looked so cute and smelled so sweet! My little baby boo had her first hair cut!!! :)

Massage Envy...

Oh what a wonderful Saturday morning!
I was lucky enough to get a gift certificate to Massage Envy from one of the auctions that the AHA puts on. It was for one free complimentary massage, so I booked an appt. today and Man oh Man was it just what I needed. An hour of pure, selfish, muscle-melting pleasure! Hilda was so great and I'm definitely going back...soon! :) Maybe Casey and I will even do a couples massage :

Friday Night Date Night

I LOVE Friday night date nights! We always have fun no matter what we do! (I mean come on it's Vegas there's always something to do here) But after work I went to get my hair done at The Loft which is this really great hair salon right over by my work. The Loft also supports the American Heart Association so I had to try it out! :) But it was really great, Dawna did a fantastic job! Then I met up Casey and our friends Crisa and Patrick at Joes restaurant in the Forum Shops at Ceasers. We had a fabulous dinner and amazing wine! It was really a great night. Then we went to a Comedy show at the Riveria. Casey and I really like hanging out with Crisa and Patrick. I think everyone had a really great time!

I hope everyone had a fun day today. I usually don't care for this holiday but this year I've truly found someone special to share it with. Casey and I had a really nice day today. No cards or candy just breakfast at this amazing little place right up the street and then a simple afternoon movie, which we took Gabrielle to. We say "He's Just Not That Into You." Which was super packed but a really cute movie. I'm glad we were able to take Gabrielle. She's such a good kid I'm glad we are able to hang out :) Then Casey had to head into work for a little bit so I treated myself to a mani/pedi! Nothing beats a little pampering :) Hope your day was as great as mine!

Las Vegas Goes Red for Women

So you may or may not know (but you should!) that last Friday Feb. 6th was National Wear Red Day raising awareness for women and Heart Disease. Well, in honor of Wear Red Day Fremont street in Old Las Vegas turned "red" and so did the Welcome to Las Vegas sign. Las Vegas switched out all the white light bulbs to red to show support to the AHA! Thanks to everyone who went Red in honor of women!

My besties vist Vegas!

How fun was my weekend? My three besties (minus Sarah Long :( came to visit me in Vegas! Traci, Irene and Sarah P came to celebrate another one of our friend birthdays. We had such a good time. Staying out at JET at the Mirage until 4am, Shopping, Lunch, Cirque de Soile shows (LOVE) and gossiping! Can you really ask for a better weekend? I can't wait to do it again!

Note to the girls: When ever you guys want to come back you are all more than welcome!

The Jersey Boys

Another perfect Date night! Monday night Casey scored tickets to the Las Vegas show 'The Jersey Boys', the story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. I wasn't really sure what to expect since that was a band that my dad grew up with. But come'on, its a Vegas show so it has to be good right? :P

To my surprise it was AMAZING!! I recommend that everyone go. Not only is it fun and interactive but you learn a lot about them, as individuals and as a band. Plus, I really had no idea what songs the Four Seasons sang but I was amazed to find out that I knew a lot of them. I just had no idea they sang them.

So if you get the chance definitely go see it!

My run in with the LAW...

So I haven't had a run in with the Law since I was flagged over by a bike cop after school in my sub for doing 5 over!!!! So I was a little surprised that I got pulled over by "Officer I Take Myself Too Seriously" Thursday afternoon. So This is how it all went down...

I was driving home from work just getting on the freeway. I was about 15min away from home when Casey called to tell my the cable guy was there and needed my laptop in order to fix our wireless. So I put the peddle to the metal and busted a move home. Now, I admit...I was speeding (and swerving through traffic BUT in my defense I was checking my blind spot) anyways all of a sudden I see the lights of the cop car pulling me over. Damn it! I was totally caught. Good thing I was wearing my sexy Juicy Couture glasses because "Office I Take Myself Too Seriously" gave me a warning. Thank God because the ticket would have been like $600!!!

But don't worry I totally learned my lesson. I'm totally investing in a police scanner! :)

Date Night!

So last night Planet Hollywood hosted the Miss America Pageant here in Las Vegas. Since Casey has the hook up pretty much anywhere in town (gotta love the restaurant business) he got his friend at Planet to hook us up with tickets! We were so excited! We got all dressed up, drove to the hotel right on time, 7pm just to realize that we were about two hours too late! The pageant had started at 4pm! We were so bummed but Casey and I like to make the best of things so we went to a new favorite of ours Bar Louie at Towne Square. All in all it was a great night. I still need to find out who won though!

The funny way my Macie sleeps...

Hey everyone,

So believe me I'm not going to turn into one of those weirdo's that only blogs about their pets BUT......I just have to post these funny shots of Macie sleeping! She's so hilarious that I have to share them with everyone. She mostly likes to sleep about 3 inches away from her mommy or daddy :) and it usually has to be on the couch. She likes the crack of the couch too, it must be where she feels the most snuggly!

Macie's first Vet visit!

So, being the very over protective mother that I am :)
I made sure the first thing that Macie did was see the vet! (well, lets be honest the first thing I did was make sure she looked good and had the right accessories)

But then I made an appt. for Macie at the Warm Springs Animal Hospital right down the street from out house. The staff was very nice and Dr. Simon took great care of my baby! We found out that she weights 3lbs! I couldn't believe it, I mean I knew she was small but thats super tiny! Then they started her on her shots. Now typically, they give you a combo shot of 3 different vaccines that all puppies need. But because Macie is soooo small they could only give her one. :) We have to go back in 2 weeks (Jan 31st) for the second one. I felt so bad, she gave out this little cry when Dr. Simon gave her her shot in the butt. But she did fantastic! She's such a good girl! Mommy and Daddy are very proud of her! ;)

Welcome to our family Macie!!

We have a new addition to our little family! Welcome Macie, our 8 week old Cha-weenie! :) She's supossedly a mix between a chihauhau and a daushaund. She is so super sweet and adorable!

Here's the story....

Thursday, I had to fly to San Francisco for a meeting and I was supposed to fly home that same evening at 6 pm. When I got to the San Fran airport I texted Casey to make sure he was still able to pick me up. Instead of texting me back he sent a pic of this sweet looking puppy! I immediatly called him to see what was going on and all he said was "Surprise, she's ours!" When I asked the usual what, who, when, where he said that he saw her on craigslist for $200. When Casey called the man who had her he was able to talk him down to $75 and the rest is history! They both came to pick me up from the airport and I immediatly fell in L-O-V-E! All she wants to do is play and give kisses.

So right from the airport we went straight to PetSmart where we spen a small fortune picking out the perfect comfy bed, blanket, food, collar, leash, food bowls, play toys, chew toys....you get the picture. I even went to Juicy Couture and bought her a Juicy sweatshirt! Its a small and she'll have to grow into it!

The Perfect Dress

So, the Heart Ball is literally 3 months away and I'm starting to freak out about my dress! To say the least, it has to be perfect! And perfect is hard to find. But a miracle had happened and I found it! Well, I saw it in magazine. Ok, I saw it in a Wedding magazine. And it's actually a bridesmaids dress but who cares! Its PERFECT! And remember perfect is hard to come by! So I've tracked down the store that carries it here in Vegas and on Saturday I'll go see how much damage this gorgeous gown is gonna cost me :) But you tell me, isn't it amazing???

San Francisco here I come!

So tomorrow I'm heading to Volunteer Management training in San Fran for the day. My flight leaves at 6am (yikes) and I spend the whole day in the San Fran office which overlooks the San Fran Bay! How cool, you don't get views like that in the desert! Then, without any sight seeing at all, I have to fly back to Vegas. Just in time for water aerobics!

Ok so its not a secret that I HATE working out! Absolutely hate it! With a passion. Its not fun and who likes to get sweaty? So I figure that if I have a group of people to work out with that I might not hate it so much. So when the Henderson Happenings book came in the mail (its the catelog of all the community classes you can sign up for) I took a gander at the water aerobics page :) So you're lookin' at (reading rather) the newest member of the Henderson Water Aerobics class! Tuesday and Thursday nights from 7-8pm you can find me sweatin' away to the oldies with my and my "senior" friends in the community pool! It's acutally pretty fun. Let me tell you a little about my class......

Everyone is 65+ including my teacher, CaroleAnn, who just had her pace maker put in last week. But don't let that fool you she is full of fire and could probably run a marathon without breaking a sweat. To pump us up we listen to Elvis and Fats Domino and there's always a warning made by CaroleAnn when we start to do the grapvine. "If you've had a hip replacement just walk side to side and skip the grapvine!" With all that aside its actually a really fun class. I've met some really nice ladies who are always willing to help you out and by the end of every class my legs feel like jello and I'm out of breath! (that's a good thing right?) Tomorrow night I'm making Casey go with me! :) I'll let you know how he does...

New J-O-B Promotion!!

It's official I've been promoted to Business Development Coordinator for the Las Vegas Heart Ball! Which is April 25th at Planet Hollywood. That's going to be such a fun night! I can't wait to post those pictures :)

What a way to ring in 2009!! Casey, Sue (Casey's Mom) and myself rang in the new year on The Strip! Which is way cool 'cause they close down Las Vegas Blvd. so that all the drunks can walk up and down the street waiting for the hotels to set off fireworks and for the ball to drop. It was estimated that 40,000 people were on the strip that night! It really was a mad house. As soon as I get the pics off of Casey camera I'll post'em.

Merry Christmas everyone! I haven't written for some time now so today is the day for catching up! :) During the Christmas break I left my cozy home here in Las Vegas to fly home to the fridged cold weather in Michigan! I arrived home on Christmas Eve and stayed until just after Ali's Birthday! Christmas was great and it was awesome seeing my Dad, but I realized that Las Vegas is now Home to me. I guess I'm finally growing up and moving on...
